NCARB to discontinue five-year "rolling clock" policy
The Texas Board of Architectural Examiners is aware of the recent decision by NCARB to waive the rolling clock policy and “revive” old 4.0 and 5.0 exams that had previously expired under that policy. This is a relatively sudden development that TBAE will be working to implement over the coming months. Note that, because TBAE adopted the five-year rolling clock into its rules, the agency must engage in formal rulemaking procedures to amend its rules and implement this change in policy. The Board will be awaiting the finalization and implementation of NCARB’s policy, which is expected on May 1, 2023. Thereafter, the Board will modify its rules as soon as possible. We hope to complete rulemaking by early September.
Further information regarding this matter will be made available as we work through the process. Expect email correspondence and web page updates as we move forward. We appreciate your patience as the Board works to implement this change in policy while complying with required legal procedures.
